Acceleration Physiotherapy’s Knee Osteoarthritis Program was designed for those suffering with arthritic knee pain. Based on the understanding that exercise and strength training can help people manage knee osteoarthritis, the program begins with a thorough assessment and is followed by a six-week, guided exercise program.
Participants will attend two, one-on-one sessions per week with physiotherapist, Brittney Achtymichuk, who will provide each patient with the education needed to ultimately manage their knee pain independently.
Who is this program designed for?
If you’re suffering with arthritic knee pain and can participate in a supervised exercise program, then the Knee Osteoarthritis program will be suitable for you.
I have limited mobility; can I still participate?
Treatment plans are adapted for each patient, depending on the severity of arthritis and level of ability. After your assessment, the therapist will ensure the program is adjusted to meet your specific limitations.
How do I join the Knee Osteoarthritis Program?
You can simply contact the clinic to arrange your initial assessment, after which point the physiotherapist will determine if the program is an appropriate fit for you.
Will the physiotherapist keep my doctor updated?
The lead physiotherapist will routinely forward progress reports to your physician, if requested.
What does the program cost?
The program costs $720, which includes a full assessment ($120) and 12 guided, one-on-one exercise sessions with a physiotherapist ($50 each).

Is there a set schedule, or can I choose my appointment time?
You can book your weekly sessions during any available opening in Brittney’s schedule.
How long is each session?
The initial assessment and each follow-up exercise session will take 45 minutes.
Will the program be offered in a group format?
As the global health situation evolves and it is safe to do so, we will expand the program to include a group-based delivery option.
