If you haven’t received physiotherapy treatment in the past or it’s your first time at Acceleration Physio, you may not know what to expect. Here are a few important details to consider ahead of your first appointment at our clinic:
Booking an Appointment
At Acceleration Physiotherapy, we offer simple, online booking for new and returning patients. Click HERE and follow the prompts. We ask all new first-time patients to complete the intake forms online as well (this will be emailed to you following the initial booking process). If you’d prefer, you may also text/call us at 587-338-4900 or contact us through our website.
Appointment Length
Because our physiotherapists only treat one patient at a time and aren’t bouncing between multiple clients, appointment lengths may not take as long as what you’ve experienced in the past at other clinics. Your therapist will be focused on you for the entirety of your appointment time, which typically takes around 45 minutes for an assessment and 25-45 minutes for an appointment.
Every person’s treatment plan is customized and therefore different, so there will be some variation in the length of time an appointment may take.
Arriving At the Clinic
At Acceleration Physiotherapy, we don’t always have on-site reception staff, which means if you aren’t greeted immediately upon arrival, there’s no need to worry! We invite you to take a seat in the waiting area and your therapist will meet you at your designated appointment time.

What Is Physiotherapy?
Simply put, physiotherapy helps improve function, increase mobility, and reduce pain. It benefits professionals who spend their days in front of a computer, elite athletes who put their bodies through immense stress, victims of a motor vehicle accident, and nearly everyone in between.
Do I Need a Doctor’s Referral?
We don’t need a doctor’s referral in order to provide treatment; however, it’s important to note that some health insurance providers require this in order to reimburse for the costs of treatment. If you have a doctor’s note, please bring it with you so it can be added to your chart.
How Much Does Physiotherapy Cost?
We can direct bill select extended health plans, so please let us know if you have private coverage prior to your first appointment. Patients are responsible for any amount not covered by their insurance coverage (including co-pay amounts).
